How does the Holy Spirit help us? He not only helps and comforts us, but he directs and leads. And further, like a lawyer in a court of law, the Holy Spirit is our advocate, representing us before God the Father.
We cannot live out our Christian lives without the help of the Holy Spirit. He helps us to understand and believe our true identity: as children of God.
Just as the physical experience of hunger indicates that we have a need for food, so our desire for purpose and relationship reveals that we were created to know God. Today we are talking about living a life empowered by the Holy Spirit: knowing God and being in friendship with him.
It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been a Christian, there is always something new to learn about the Holy Spirit. In this first talk from our series we learn that the Holy Spirit is not optional, and that we were never meant to live the Christian life in our own strength.
